I hate flying.

Tomorrow, me, my mom, and my dad are off to California and Hawaii. Sure, it sounds awesome, but it's a family thing; I will be surrounded by lots of Chinese folk who will insist on fattening me up. All the while inquiring about my relationship status. For two and a half weeks. My sister gets out of it because of her COLLEGE thing. Le sigh.

I dunno how much writing Imma gonna be able to get done during this furlough. I'm not taking my laptop with me because it is a BEAST OF HEAT AND DOOM.

Pretty sure I wouldn't be able to get it past security.

My dad said he'd let me borrow his netbook but still, we're not even getting a hotel room. Just stayin' with some tiny Chinese relations. In their tiny apartment. So we'll see how that works out writing-wise, but especially bathroom-wise.

Anyway. I probably won't have a stable internet connection either. So it'll be like the good ole days: Floppy disks and 8-track tapes.

P.S. I'm using Chrome now, instead of Safari, and I like it. I'm don't know if I'm ready to marry Chrome just yet, but it's streamlined, quick for the most part, and definitely big dicked.

Chrome is pretty sweet. It can't do a lot of things yet, though, because it's still the Beta version, but basic internet junk is fine.

I have a lot of trouble with YouTube when I'm using Chrome, oddly enough.

About the Book

There are people with abilities they shouldn't have. Abilities that should not be possible. A man who can transform into a tiger, apple core eyes, and orange, black stripes, burning. A woman with metal fingers instead of flesh, scalpel-like. They are called Caps.

Kallie is a Cap. She's stronger than anyone she's ever known, and she aches to be the hero she could be. When the man who maimed her years ago is broken out of his padded cell, she knows he will find her again. She can regenerate, but John Doe plucked the fingers from her hand and swallowed each one. He took too much. She can already feel the phantom crawl of his tongue, and she will kill him before he tastes her for the last time.

Danny's the reason John Doe is free, and he did it because his boyfriend, Marcus, told him to. He does whatever Marcus tells him to because Marcus can see the future as well as he can the present, and right now his apple core eyes are fixed on the source of their abilities. Convinced the answer's in their blood, Marcus pegs John Doe as just the Cap to section and study. His abilities will keep his blood flowing long after his veins should have dried.

During the break out, Marcus is severely wounded, John Doe escapes, and Danny finds himself shouldering a plan he doesn't even understand. He still trusts Marcus, though, if nothing else, and knows of someone they could bleed instead. Someone Danny's only fought once before. She could regenerate like John Doe. He downs another vodka shot and tries to remember her name. And then it comes to him:

Kallie.
